Dr. Bratton is board certified in both clinical chemistry (DABCC) and histocompatibility (DABHI). She completed her fellowship training at one of the world’s leading research universities, Emory University.

When Dr. Bratton began her clinical laboratory consulting career in 2012, the idea of an independent commercial specialty laboratory was a relative novelty. Dr. Bratton began partnering to establish early commercial molecular labs focusing on behavioral health. She designed, built, validated, and accredited the laboratories in addition to providing technical sales and marketing support. From these experiences, Dr. Bratton learned the valuable lessons of business strategy, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence to the commercial success of clinical laboratories.

In the years that followed, Dr. Bratton provided intermittent consulting support to various laboratory business while maintaining a laser focus on her academic goals. With the emergence of the COVID19 pandemic in 2020 came a surge in demand for laboratory testing for SARS-CoV-2. Many laboratories pivoted from their initial area of focus to providing COVID testing. The current COVID testing volumes have begun and will continue to decline. Laboratories that have outfitted and staffed for this testing will need to consider yet another pivot to remain successful in the coming years.

Recognizing this need, Dr. Bratton formed Bratton LabWorx LLC in 2020 with the goal of providing expert guidance for independent specialty diagnostic laboratories that need to evolve and thrive in the years ahead.
